The Choctaw Tribal School System operates a centralized food services program designed to achieve maximum use of resources, including government and commodity and school reimbursement programs, and to develop coordinated nutrition and meal programs in all cafeteria locations, fostering good nutrition and proper diet. The food service program coordinates with the instructional program to establish healthier and more beneficial dietary patterns among Choctaw students in an effort to delay diet related health problems such as diabetes, hypertension, and obesity.
