Pearl River Students Participate in Science Fair Thirty students from Pearl River Elementary participated in the Mississippi Regions V Science and Engineering Fair held March 26, 2008 at Mississippi State University. We applaud these students, their parents, and teachers for all their hard work. Pearl River Elementary students brought home two second place winners and four third place winners. Congratulations to Trajan Fielder- 2nd place, Winona Tubby- 2nd place, Treyvin Bell- 3rd place, Breanna Billie- 3rd place, Kaliyah Tubby- 3rd place, and Jacob Billy- 3rd place

OTC Students Host Easter Celebration Students from the Occupational Training Center recently hosted an Easter Celebration for the residents at the Choctaw Residential Center. Everyone enjoyed the activities.
Science Project at Conehatta For a science project, students in Mrs. Mary Burt and Mrs. Fannie Williamson’s first grade class recently made bird feeders from milk jugs. |
Reading at Red Water To encourage reading, Third grade students at Red Water Elementary School read to principal, Bobby Boone, and School Counselor, Brenda Clay, during AR time.
American Indian Heritage Festival at OTC The Occupational Training Center held its first annual American Indian Heritage Festival on Thursday, April 10, 2008. This event was a school-parent-community effort to increase understanding of Indian Heritage. Opening remarks were delivered by Principal Sylvia Johnson and Dalton Henry closed the evening in prayer. Other activities enjoyed by all at the festival included traditional dancing and music, basket weaving, bead making, stickball/stick making, Choctaw dress making, Choctaw stories, and a delicious meal of hominy, fry-bread, fried chicken, green beans, potato salad, dressing, and banana pudding. |
