The personal learning tools allow children to listen to books, engage in hands on activities, and interact with letters and words. All of the products included in the kit collectively provide multi-sensory, direct instruction and assessment for results-driven, individualized learning. The products can easily be incorporated with whole class, small group, and individual instruction. The activities focus on phonics, phonemic awareness, and vocabulary.

Resource classrooms received the LeapTrack system which includes easily integrated assessments and interactive instruction for multiple learning levels.  This system provides multiple opportunities for student learning that is directly related to the specific needs of the individual student.

It promotes success through ongoing formative assessment and differentiated instruction. All activities are aligned to the MS curriculum standards.

Also included with the purchase of these products is large group and individualized professional development. Teachers have already spent two days in whole group training being introduced to the  products and have had the opportunity to work one on one with a leapfrog trainer in their own classrooms learning how to best implement the products. LeapFrog trainers will be in the classrooms throughout the year working individually with teachers on how to get the most from these new products. For more information about the LeapFrog products, contact the division of schools at 601-650-7302.

Introducing LeapFrog Products

Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Resource classrooms are equipped with new innovative products to enrich the learning environment. These products were purchased from Leap Frog School house.   Every Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classroom in the district received a literacy kit that includes at least 8 LeapPad personal learning tools with books and earphones, LeapMat learning surface, and the LeapDesk workstation. Each classroom received an additional LeapDesk workstation that includes access to the Link to Lessons program that aligns the activities including assessment to the MS state curriculum standards.
